Parents, our lockdown today was out of an abundance of caution for our students' safety. An unknown person was on campus and was removed.
Faculty and Staff did a great job and we appreciate your support and concern for our students.
England School District is no longer on lockdown, and everyone is safe.

Tonight's special board meeting has been postponed. We will announce the rescheduled date as soon as we can.
Thank you!!!

ESD School Board will have a special session tonight, 9/5/2023, beginning at 6:00pm.
To All Parents and Guardians of England School District Students:
I am writing this letter to inform you about an upcoming change in beginning and ending times for each school day. As of Tuesday, September 5 th , the High School will begin the school day at 7:45 a.m. and the dismissal bell will ring at 4:11 p.m.
According to the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, all schools that use or implement a 4-day school week must include a minimum of 450 minutes of instructional time within each school day. To bring our District into compliance with state-mandated standards, we are now implementing this new schedule.
What does this mean for you, as a parent/guardian?
Morning bus routes will begin 5 minutes earlier.
The Elementary student drop off will be from 7:30 to 7:45 a.m. The bell to enter classes will ring at 7:45 a.m. The tardy bell will ring at 7:50 a.m. The dismissal bell will ring at 4:05 p.m.
The High School first bell will ring at 7:45 a.m., and 1 st period classes will begin at 7:50 a.m. The final dismissal bell will ring at 4:11 p.m., and buses will depart at 4:15 p.m.
I apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. However, our current schedule contains only 422 minutes of instructional time. This produces a deficit of 28 daily instructional minutes – or almost 9 full days of yearly instructional time. Should we delay this change, or fail to implement it, we run the real risk of being required to add the additional days to the end of our school year.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 501-842-2996.
Sincerely,
Mark Price

We are so excited to start our new 23-24 school year tomorrow. As you prepare to drop your students off at the elementary school, please remember that the first few days are a busy and hectic time. Our number one priority is student/staff safety. Please slow down when driving through the drop off/pick up line, please move up when needed, and keep your eyes focused on your surroundings. Many Kindergarten parents will be parking and walking their students in across the car line. Traffic will be heavy and probably slow. After the first few days the line will be back to normal and should move smoothly. Please be patient, kind, and considerate as we welcome students to a great year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
